Pedestrian seriously hurt in Clinton hit-and-run

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian and took off in Clinton.

The 20-year-old pedestrian was near the intersection of East Street and Ontario Street when they were hit by the vehicle just before 7:30 on Thursday night.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to hospital in London for treatment. Their injuries are serious, but non-life threatening.

According to Huron OPP, the suspect vehicle was a smaller blue car with silver colouring. It was last seen heading south on East Street.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the hit-and-run or who has dash-cam or home surveillance footage from the area from around the time of the incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
