Police probing cottage vandalism

The Huron County OPP is investigating after a seasonal cottage north of Goderich suffered significant damage over the summer.

Police say they were contacted on September 13 by an individual who discovered a friend's property on Hunters Road in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh had been vandalized.

According to the individual, who occasionally checks on the cottage for the U.S. based owner, the damage occurred between July 22 and September 13.

It included the destruction of windows, smashing of drywall, and throwing of furniture. Police estimate there was over $100,000 in damage caused.
