Threats and assault of officers result in arrest in Mount Forest

An incident in Mount Forest saw a person arrested for allegedly uttering threats and assaulting officers.

On March 1 at 3:45 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported disturbance at an address on King Street East in Mount Forest.

Following an investigation, a 34-year-old Mount Forest resident was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death.

While in custody, the accused allegedly became aggressive and has since been charged with mischief - destroy or damage property and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.

The accused remains in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph. Their identity is being withheld out of concern for their well being.
