Cascades Casino Chatham delivers $460K for Chatham-Kent

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG) has issued a $460,993 fourth quarter payment to the municipality of Chatham-Kent for hosting Cascades Casino Chatham.

The payment covers January 1 to March 31, and is about $20,000 more than was earned in the previous quarter. According to OLG, the amount is calculated using a graduated scale of gaming revenue earned at the site.

During the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the municipality received more than $1.8 million. Since the site opened in April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $21,382,260.

Once received, those funds are reinvested into the community.

"OLG revenue continues to play an important role in strengthening our community," shared Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff. "These funds help us invest in the services, programs and local initiatives that residents rely on every day. Through programs like Together CK, we're able to support events, community projects and grassroots organizations that bring people together, enhance quality of life, and contribute to the vibrancy of Chatham-Kent."

Over the last 25 years, which is how long the casino has been open, Together CK has supported 443 events and 548 projects in Chatham-Kent, the municipality shared in a recent release.

"OLG truly values being a long-standing partner in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and to communities across Ontario," said Kathleen Devine, OLG's Senior Municipal Relations Manager. "Every dollar of OLG's profit is returned to Ontario to support the things people care about most, like critical infrastructure, local initiatives, and community events. Those dollars are making a difference here in Chatham-Kent."
