Leamington raid leads to arrest, seizure of $104K in drugs

A Leamington man is facing multiple charges after a joint raid executed by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Members of the OPP's Community Street Crime Unit had been looking into a potential drug operation that led to a house on Talbot Street West.

Officers from the OPP, and the RCMP's Canine Unit with Police Service Dog Phillie, raided the address on Friday.

About $104,000 is suspected cocaine was confiscated, along with stolen property, cash, and other items.

A 35-year-old man is charged with two counts of cocaine possession with intent to sell, two counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition while prohibited, possession of stolen property over $5,000 in Canada, unauthorized possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of identity documents, and four counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

The charges have not been proven in court. The man was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
