Transit Windsor deal finalized

The Transit Windsor Board of Directors and Windsor City Council have endorsed the collective agreement reached between the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 616 and Transit Windsor.

Members of the ATU Local 616 voted 90 per cent in favour of the deal Sunday morning.

"After a lot of hard work by the negotiating committee, we’re very happy to have come to a satisfactory collective agreement,” said Commissioner of Infrastructure Services (Acting) Mark Winterton. “Providing this essential service is a top priority for the City of Windsor, and we are pleased that the bargaining units were able to reach an agreement without any disruption to transit operations.”

No details about the three-year contract have been released.
