Translation services at Windsor's John McGivney Children's Centre (JMCC) have received a big financial boost.
Caesars Cares, the community service division of Caesars Windsor, has provided a $10,000 donation to the JMCC, to support the translation program it provides to newcomers.
"We are committed to providing family-centred services and it is crucial for family members and caregivers to be able to understand and actively participate in their child’s therapy services," said JMCC CEO Jennifer Jovanovski. "Translation services are critical to our work as we strive to enrich the lives of children and youth with special needs by helping them reach their full potential."
Jovanovski added that translation in 26 languages is available at all stages of the interaction with the client.
"Over the past five years, we have seen an increase from 75 visits in 2019 to 1,067 visits last year," said Jovanovski. "The cost to deliver these services has also increased dramatically from $6,658 to $44,134. We are extremely grateful for this donation and for Caesars Windsor Cares for believing in the work we do at the John McGivney Children's Centre over the years."
Since 2002, Caesars Cares has donated over $76,000 to the JMCC for various programs and services, including a contribution to the centre's capital expansion campaign.
