The sacrifices made by soldiers, sailors, and airmen will be at the forefront of Remembrance Day events throughout the weekend.
The majority of Windsor-Essex communities will hold events on Saturday to remember those who paid the ultimate price.

Windsor
Windsor's traditional Remembrance Day parade will take place on Saturday. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., members of the HMCS Hunter and members of the Windsor Regiment (RCAC) will march from the Great Canadian Flag at Dieppe Gardens, up Ouellette Avenue, and over to the cenotaph outside Windsor City Hall.
The Remembrance Day service at the cenotaph will begin around 11 a.m. Special guest speakers from the military will include Honorary Colonel Joseph Ouellette for the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment, and Commodore Patrick Montgomery, Commander of the RCN Naval Reserves, who is visiting Windsor in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves.
The event is open to the public and will be broadcast live on YourTV, and streamed on the City of Windsor's official Facebook page.
The Chimczuk Museum and Francois Baby House will be open Saturday with free admission.
Windsor City Hall will be closed on Monday, along with the 311 call centre. Municipal ticket payment offices will also be closed on Monday.
Essex
The Town of Essex will honour veterans with a walk beginning at 10:15 a.m. Saturday from the cenotaph to the Essex Legion.
There will be a Remembrance Day parade in Harrow, starting at 1:15 p.m. at the Harrow Centre Royal Canadian Legion Branch 338, at 41 McAffee Street. The parade heads to the cenotaph with the ceremony ending at 2:45 p.m.
Kingsville
The Town of Kingsville's Remembrance Day event will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday outside the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188, at 145 Division Road South.
The Kingsville Military Museum, adjacent to the Legion, will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is by donation.
The Legion's annual roast beef dinner begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 a person, with veterans and their caregivers free. Tickets must be purchased in advance in person at the Legion's bar with cash, or by e-transfer.
Lakeshore
The Municipality will hold two events on Saturday. Ceremonies begin at 10:45 a.m. at both the Veterans Memorial Gardens in Comber and the corner of Ouellette and South Streets in Belle River.
Refreshments will be offered after both ceremonies at the Comber Legion and Belle River Legion respectively.
Lakeshore's municipality offices will be closed on Monday, but the Atlas Tube Centre will remain open.
LaSalle
The Town of LaSalle will team up with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 for its ceremony on Saturday, which will be held at 11 a.m. at the Cenotaph Park, located at 5950 Malden Road.
The ceremony will be streamed live on the Town's official YouTube channel.
The Town of Tecumseh closed its municipal offices on Friday, so Town Hall will be open Monday as usual.
