The Tayfour-Emara Excellence in Research and Education Fund is getting another boost of funding from its namesakes.
Dr. Fouad Tayfour and Dr. Barry Emara have injected another $330,000 into the fund aimed at healthcare research and training.
"The partnership with Windsor Regional Hospital continues to have a positive impact on the community we serve,” explains Dr. Tayfour. “Within a short period of time we have decreased cataract wait times, recruited more Ophthalmologists to Windsor and allowed for other elective procedures to be completed in the hospital.”
The fund was set up in 2022 with an initial donation of $250,000.
“This fund has helped put a focus on research and training in Windsor Essex which, in turn, leads to improved patient care. This helps with recruiting as well as we look to attract the next generation of healthcare researchers and providers to the region,” says Jonathan Foster, vice president of emergency, trauma, mental health, cancer services and renal.
These funds will be used over the next two years to support clinical research training, researcher mentorship and data analytics support.
