Holt running for Windsor mayor

Ward 4 Councillor Chris Holt is running for the mayor's seat in the upcoming municipal election.

Holt has served as Ward 4 councillor for two terms.

"Almost 80 per cent of Ward 4 voters decided that focusing on creating better neighbourhoods in a fiscally responsible way, improving and providing transportation alternatives and making every decision through a climate lens was a top priority for them when they sent me back to city hall in 2018," said Holt. "In every decision, I applied these principles to the vision of what the city as a whole could and should be."

He says he's running for mayor to create a better quality of life for all residents in the city.

"We all deserve clean and safe neighbourhoods, we all deserve quick and easy access to the amenities that fulfil our daily needs, we all deserve safe, efficient and affordable public and active transportation options so that we can participate in society," said Holt.

He says over the course of his campaign he will unveil a fully-costs platform to improve these areas in the city.

To date, Benjamin Danyluk and Ernie Lamont are also running for mayor. Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens has not announced his intentions for the upcoming election.

In Ward 4, Edy Haddad, Patrick Sutherland, and Kristen Siapas are all looking to fill Holt's seat at the council table.

The municipal election is on October 24, 2022.
