The third and final phase of road reconstruction on one of Windsor's busiest roads gets underway Friday.
The project on Huron Church Road has had traffic down to one lane each way since the beginning of April. The first phase was in the northbound lanes. Phase two was in the southbound lanes and started in mid-May.
Executive Director of Operations with the City of Windsor, Dwayne Dawson said it will still be down to one lane each way in phase three, but traffic will shift once again as work gets underway on the median.
"Traffic in the southbound direction [will] shift to the southbound lanes in a single file," said Dawson. "While northbound traffic is maintained in a single-file."

The $5.5-million project included a new road surface, new sidewalks and curbs, a new water main, and new traffic signals at three intersections -- at Prince/Totten Street, at Dorchester, and Malden Road.
The entire project is expected to wrap up by July 5.
The city received a $3 million grant from the provincial government to help pay for the work.
