The Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market is extending its season until the end of October.
Originally, the last market would have been last Saturday's on Maiden Lane and Pelissier Street, but after a successful 20-week run, it will now stay open the next three Saturdays, on October 13, 20 and 27.
"We've had a wildly successful market season, with several weeks being completely full both with vendors and patrons," said Sarah Cipkar, co-chair of the Downtown Windsor Farmers Market Community and community coordinator at the Downtown Windsor Community Collective.
Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Area Chair Larry Horwitz said he is also thrilled with the market's popularity.
"The extension of the market's season presents further opportunities to increase consumer interest, offer seasonal products and produce, and continue to build on the urban/farm linkage that is integral to the market," he said.
In addition to fresh produce sourced locally, the market hosted 20 new vendors, and a Kids Corner this year funded through an Arts, Culture, and Heritage Fund grant from the City of Windsor.
The market is presented jointly by the Downtown Windsor BIA and the Downtown Windsor Community Collective.
