Fiat Chrysler makes some moves at the top

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has shuffled its leadership.

Reid Bigland continues to lead Canadian operations and U.S. sales, but has been named the head of Ram brand.

He previously led the Ram brand in 2013-2014 which, under his leadership, experienced sales growth of nearly 50 per cent.

New FCA CEO, Mike Manley said Bigland has the right products and the skills to take Ram to the next level.

"One key element in the plan is to ensure that our leadership team is best aligned to our objectives going forward," Manley said.

FCA laid out its five-year business plan June 1, and one of the objectives is becoming one of the world’s most profitable automakers.

"The next five years will continue to be extremely challenging for our industry, with tougher regulations, intense competition and probably slower industry growth around the world," said Manley, in a letter to employees October 1. "Nevertheless, with a laser focus on execution and a continued flexibility that allows us to adjust as circumstances change, something that has become one of our most unique characteristics and strengths, we have a clear line of sight to achieving our five-year ambitions."
