A sentencing date has been set for a former Sarnia high school teacher who admitted to having sex with a male student. Melissa Lefebvre, 38, pleaded guilty in July to touching the student for sexual purposes while in a position of authority at Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School. Lefebvre appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice Tuesday and will be sentenced November 28. Court heard previously that the year-long relationship began in 2016 when the student was 16. There was about 20 sexual encounters between the two, which included oral sex and intercourse. The Crown is seeking an 18-month jail sentence, while the defence argues a 10-month sentence is appropriate.
