Blue Mountain Resort sets opening date for ski season

Blue Mountain Resort has announced its opening day for the upcoming ski and snowboard season.

The resort has confirmed it will open for the 2026-27 winter season on Thursday, December 10, 2026, with activities getting underway at 8:30 a.m.

In an announcement on its website, Blue Mountain says preparations are already underway.

"Our teams are hard at work putting the finishing touches on the slopes, testing lifts, and preparing the mountain for your first turns of the season," a statement from the resort said.

Details about which lifts and trails will be available on opening day have not yet been released. The resort says that information will be provided closer to December 10.

This year's opening date is one day later than last season, when Blue Mountain opened on December 9 and remained in operation until April 22.

Blue Mountain, located near Collingwood, is Ontario's largest ski and snowboard destination.

The resort is encouraging visitors to check its website for updated trail conditions and operating hours as opening day approaches.
