$28K in stolen property seized in Kincardine bust

Two Kincardine residents are facing charges after a search of a local residence turned up a couple of stolen vehicles.

South Bruce OPP said that a search warrants was carried out at residence along Albert Road on May 2. Members of the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Huron Perth CSCU, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine, and the South Bruce Crime Unit executed the warrant.

According to police, approximately $28,000 worth of stolen property was recovered, including an ATV, snowmobile, and surveying equipment.

A small quantity of suspected illicit drugs was also seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old man and 46-year-old man from Kincardine are facing charges including four counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The 47-year-old was released with a court date in Walkerton next month, while the 46-year-old was remanded into custody.

Police say owners of the stolen property have already been contacted.
