Barn lost in North Perth fire

There were no injuries or animals lost after a barn fire broke out south of Listowel on Tuesday night.

The North Perth Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire around 5 p.m., with assistance from Perth East and West Perth departments.

Crews used a water reservoir on a neighbouring property to supress the blaze.

According to a social media post from the department, the barn and an accompanying shed were a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Along with thanking the neighbouring fire departments and fellow emergency services, North Perth sent kudos to the neighbours that helped remove the animals from the barn.

They also thanked local businesses like Horst Excavating, which supplied heavy equipment; Foxton Fuels for refueling apparatus on scene, and A&W and Tim Hortons for feeding the crews.
