Work has begun on the new $8.88 million West Grey Police station in Durham.
Domm Construction expects the job to take 16 months to complete.
The new police station is being designed to accommodate the current police service as well as projected growth.
Improved air flow, enhanced insulation, new heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems will create better energy efficiency.
“We are excited to see that the fence is up, and earth is starting to move for the construction of our new municipal police station. This is a great project being undertaken to ensure the safety of everyone in our community, and is being completed by Domm Construction, a West Grey based builder.” said Mayor Kevin Eccles.
The project will be funded through the 2024 and 2025 budgets, as well as long-term borrowing.
