Teen charged in Port Elgin altercation

One youth was arrested following a weapons call in Port Elgin Friday morning.

Around 12:40 a.m. Saugeen Shores Police responded after it was reported that a group of males had engaged in a verbal altercation where one had brandished a knife.

Police arrived and detained four males.

Only one was eventually arrested, a 17-year-old visitor to Saugeen Shores faces charges for assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, police say no further information will be provided due to the age of the accused.
