Town of Hanover setting up cooling centres during intense heat wave

The Town of Hanover has established two local cooling centres for all residents during the start of an intense heat wave this week.

A media release from the town states that the Hanover Civic Centre main lobby, Public Library and the P&H Centre main lobby are available during regular facility open hours for anyone who needs to cool off.

The release adds that drinking plenty of cool water is key during this heat spell. Neighbours are encouraged to check on older adults in their neighbourhood. Also, a reminder that pets should not be left in unattended vehicles for any length of time during the heat.

Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Tuesday & Thursday | 6:00am - 9:30pm

Saturday | 7:00am – 4:00pm

Sunday | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
