The Owen Sound Police Service responded to a single vehicle rollover in the city on May 29.
At 8:20 a.m., officers responded alongside Grey County EMS and the Owen Sound Fire Department to a crash that occurred on 9th Avenue East, north of 20th Street East in Owen Sound.
A Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was travelling southbound when the driver lost control on an S-bend and struck a large boulder, causing the truck to roll off the road and into a driveway, coming to rest on the driver's side.
The 74-year-old driver had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters, and luckily he only sustained minor injuries. The truck suffered significant damage and was towed.
The incident resulted in the closure of 9th Avenue East for 30 minutes while emergency services tended to the driver and investigated the incident.
The driver was subsequently charged with Careless Driving and Driving While Under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
