Goderich Farmers’ Market kicks off Saturday

The Goderich BIA Farmers' Market is set to launch its 2024 season on May 18, running every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Courthouse Square until Thanksgiving weekend.

Market-goers can look forward to a wide array of vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, homemade jams, local meats, crafts, and more. George Blackwell, a member of the Goderich BIA and the market organizer, shares his enthusiasm for the upcoming season:

"We're going to have a whole bunch of vendors," he said. "There's vegetables, seedlings for people to plant in their garden, flowers, crafts, woodworking, 3D printing, artists, jewelry, and baked goods like pies, jams, and cakes. [There's also] honey, coffee, flowers, vintage clothing. It's from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturdays until Thanksgiving."

Additionally, the Sunday Market will start on May 19, operating from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday until October. This market features a variety of vendors, including antiques, jewelry, wine, and collectibles and toys.

The markets not only support local vendors but also attract visitors to Goderich’s downtown Market Square, reinforcing its reputation as "The Prettiest Town in Canada."
