Saugeen Shores increases funding to municipal housing program

Saugeen Shores has announced a boost in funding to the Bruce County Municipal Housing Allowance Program, doubling its contribution to $150,000 annually.

This move aims to bolster housing stability in the area.

The increased funding will maintain support for ten existing households in Saugeen Shores while adding ten more households to the program starting July 1, 2024. Launched in September 2022, the Municipal Housing Allowance Program focuses on affordability for low-income households renting in Bruce County.

“The Town’s increased contribution and on-going support of this program reflects its continued commitment to advancing housing affordability and stability for all residents," Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau said.

Individuals can apply for housing online, contact the Bruce County Community Housing Registry at 1-877-396-3450, or pick up an application at various locations across the county.
