North Huron appoints Chad Kregar as Interim Fire Chief

The Township of North Huron has appointed Chad Kregar as Interim Fire Chief.

Kregar currently serves as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Huron County, and brings extensive experience and leadership to the role.

The shared service agreement between the Municipality of Huron East and North Huron will continue while a review of fire service management and administration is conducted.

Former Fire Chief Kent Readman left for a new job with Loyalist Township.

The Township also announced that Ken DeVries has been appointed as Interim Deputy Fire Chief.

"I would like to thank former Fire Chief Readman for his service to the community and wish him all the best in his future endeavours," said North Huron Reeve Paul Heffer. "I would also like to thank the County of Huron for allowing Chad Kregar to serve as North Huron’s Interim Fire Chief and I would like to extend our appreciation to Ken DeVries for agreeing to assume the Interim Deputy Chief role. Chad and Ken have a lot of knowledge and experience and will continue to ensure our community is well served. We also look forward to continued discussions with the Municipality of Huron East regarding our shared fire service agreement.”
