Bruce County opens applications for 2024 scholarships

Applications for Bruce Power’s annual post-secondary scholarships are now open

Students from Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties are eligible to apply before June 16 and could receive $500 to support their continuing education.

"We firmly believe that supporting young people from our region is an investment in our collective future," said John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and Media Relations. "Our hope is that this annual scholarship program will help students pursue their goals and that some of those youth will return to our region and help power the next generation of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Clean Energy Frontier region of Bruce, Grey and Huron counties."

Bruce Power will award a total of 100 scholarships, including 40 for students enrolled full-time in a program leading to a university degree, and 35 for students enrolled in community or technical college.

There are also 15 scholarships allocated for self-identified diverse populations (including persons with disabilities, Indigenous or visible minorities) in any type of post-secondary study and 10 scholarships are for students with special considerations (mature students, Crown wards, first generation students, graduate students, etc.).

Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 15. All applicants must read the eligibility requirements and complete the online form to be considered.
