County partners with EarlyON to offer trails programming

Bruce County is partnering with local EarlyON Child and Family Centres to offer trails programming.

The county says this involves the Bruce County Trails division, which will create year-round early years and family programming on County tracts and trails.

Programming will include information on rules and regulations, health and safety, seasonal and schedule considerations for year-round trail use, local plant and animal identification and interaction tips, and tick education.

Program schedules, including programs on the County trails, will be announced on the EarlyON Webpage and EarlyON Facebook page.

“EarlyON has had great success in delivering educational programming through interdepartmental partnerships with the Bruce County Public Library, Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre, and the Brucelea Haven long term care home. Partnering with the Bruce County Trails Team to share our beautiful tracts and trails with families is an exciting opportunity,” said Angela Hopkins, Bruce County Children’s Services Manager.

“Bruce County is very fortunate to have a range of amazing trails and natural areas that can provide recreational and educational opportunities for residents and visitors. Our recent resource workshops and hands-on learning sessions with the County’s Early Years Educators will help deliver safe and fun family programming on the County Trails,” added Andrew Beumer, Bruce County Trails Manager.
