Bruce Power has committed $500,000 towards the purchase of a new MRI machine in Kincardine.
Bruce Power Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President James Scongack announced the commitment at the Rock with your Docs event on June 20.
The funding will be a major boost to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, which has a goal of raising $18 million for the Kincardine Hospital Redevelopment Capital Campaign. That includes the new MRI.
Previously, Bruce Power committed $1.5 million to the overall Kincardine Hospital Redevelopment Capital Campaign prior to the MRI donation.
The Kincardine Hospital Redevelopment Capital Campaign, titled "Building Health Care for Generations", began with a goal of $18 million and has raised more than $10 million to date.
"As the largest employer in our area, we are thankful for the continued support of Bruce Power and its employees and partners as the community rallies together in support of health care and the redevelopment of Kincardine’s hospital," said Becky Fair, President of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation.
