Member of local council elected to ROMA Board of Directors

A councillor that sits on Wellington North Council has been elected to the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Board of Directors.

Councillor Steve McCabe was elected as the Zone 2 representative to the ROMA Board of Directors at their 2023 conference. ROMA works to help municipal governments in rural areas across the province. Roughly 270 of Ontario's 444 municipalities are considered rural areas with less than 10,000 people making up their population. ROMA advocates for policies and programs that will help build thriving rural Ontario communities.

Councillor McCabe says he is excited to represent Wellington North on the ROMA Board.

“I am both thrilled and honoured to have been elected by my peers to serve as the ZONE 2 representative. I look forward to helping bring a strong rural influence on current and emerging issues facing rural Ontario municipalities," McCabe stated.
