Mother nature, the airlines and rail companies are taking the brunt of the blame for the Christmas travel chaos.
That's according to a new survey released on January 18 by Angus Reid. The survey found 70 percent of respondents blamed the weather for the issues while 68 percent said the airlines and rail companies are responsible.
Only 33 percent blame the federal government, while 30 percent say the travellers themselves were to blame for their situation.
The survey also found Canadians want more government regulation to protect consumers from cancellations, including two-in-five who want the Canadian Transportation Agency to lay fines on airlines who fail to uphold customer rights. One third want the agency to find other ways to hold companies accountable.
