A Huron County resident faces ten charges following an incident near Hensall this weekend.
On Saturday, March 27th at approximately 2:40 p.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police say they received several calls about a possible impaired driver that had just rolled a vehicle at the intersection of Walnut Road and Morrison Line, northeast of Hensall.
Police say the accused allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle from a passerby following the crash by brandishing a weapon, but after this failed, they fled the scene and went to a nearby farm house, attempting to steal another vehicle.
When this carjacking attempt also failed, the accused allegedly started a nearby tractor on the property, and began driving it as the owner clung to the tractor's side as they tried to gain control of the machine.
The tractor collided with a large tree on the property. The owner was soon able to gain control of the tractor and get it stopped.
The accused then took off.
Police arrived on the scene shortly after, and spotted the accused running in a field and officers used a conducted energy weapon to subdue the suspect.
