South Huron council has approved a location for a proposed casino in the municipality.
CAO Dan Best said a recommendation to locate the proposed casino in the area of Dark Horse Estate Winery and the Huron Country Playhouse near Grand Bend was approved at Monday night's meeting.
Best said the next step is to advise Gateway Casino of their decision and then move forward with any zoning implications that have to be addressed.
Best added, now that they've identified a potential location, they will reach out to their neighbours in Lambton Shores and in Huron County because they anticipate the economic development benefits of the project will extend well beyond South Huron.
