Morris Turnberry has completed one land sale for industrial growth while purchasing property for new residential development.
The Municipality sold 13.9 acres of land at 236 Alice Street in Lower Town, Wingham to Britespan Building Systems for $570,000.
"Morris-Turnberry has been able to help one of our most aggressively expanding businesses with the sale of the Alice Street property," said Morris Turnberry Mayor Paul Gowing. "Thanks to Morris-Turnberry council and the completion of the Wingham Area Industrial Land Strategy for making the site available and ready for this development."
And council also approved the purchase of 61 Corbett Drive in Belgrave. The 79.17-acre parcel of land was purchased from Kevin and Barbara Pletch.
"The council has recognized the need for residential lots and realize that additional lands are required for the Hamlet of Belgrave to provide an opportunity for residential growth. The purchase of 61 Corbett Drive will give Morris-Turnberry the ability to oversee future growth in Belgrave that will reflect the character of that great community and meet the needs of our local area," said Mayor Gowing.
