Police Investigate Three Crashes In Owen Sound

Two people have been charged following three separate collisions during the same day in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service says on Friday around 8:10am, a 2017 Ram Pickup collided with a 2015 Honda in a private parking lot in the area of 8th St. E and 3rd Ave.

Police say there were no injuries and no charges will be laid as a result of the crash.

The second crash happened shortly after at 8:47am, when a 2015 Dodge Durango turned left onto 7th Ave. W from 10th St. W, and collided with a 2000 Ford. There were no injuries as a result of the crash, but both vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Traffic was delayed in the area for over an hour while the scene was cleared. The driver of the Dodge, a 28-year-old Owen Sound man, has been charged with making an unsafe turn.

The third collision occurred at around 12:51pm, in the area of 8th Ave. E and 16th St. E.  A 2010 Jeep was stopped on 16th St. E waiting to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a 2010 Nissan. No injuries were reported but the Nissan had to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 54-year-old Owen Sound woman, has been charged with careless driving.
