Grey OPP Remind Motorists To Keep Off Closed Roads

Grey County OPP say high winds and blowing snow created pockets of zero visibility and hazardous driving throughout the region yesterday.

Police say the result was numerous road closures. Police also responded to 16 collision, abandoned vehicles or stranded motorists throughout the day.

There were no serious injuries, but the OPP is reminding motorists roads are closed for safety reasons, and it is against the law to drive on closed roads.

Motorists who venture onto closed roads put themselves at risk, and endanger snowplow operators and emergency responders.

Motorists can call 5-1-1- for road and weather information. They should not call police.
