The Owen Sound Attack will soon name a new head coach and assistant coach.
In a media release issued on Tuesday, the team announced it has "parted ways" with Head Coach Scott Wray and Assistant Coach Reagan O’Grady.
"After careful consideration, the organization believes that a new voice is needed to guide the group and support its development," the team said in the released statement.
New Team President Tyler Nother thanked Wray and O'Grady for their contributions to the team, but said change was necessary.
“As we begin a new chapter in Attack hockey, we believe it was the appropriate time to make this change,” Nother said. “We sincerely appreciate everything Scott and Reagan have done for the Attack and wish them nothing but success moving forward.”
Despite a hot start, Owen Sound finished 27-32-4-5 on the year, good for sixth in the Western Conference. But the Attack were swept in four games by Flint in the first round of the playoffs.
The team said it will name a new head coach on Wednesday. Following the new coaching announcement, the team will host a town hall session for gathered media, season ticket holders and members of the community at 1 p.m. in the Shore Room at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
That gathering will include a Q and A session, the team confirmed.
