The Mount Forest Patriots will have a new coaching staff in 2023-24.
Head coach Bobby Kirby will be passing the torch to Zac Coulter, who will take charge behind the bench.
Coulter brings a wealth of hockey experience to his new role. He was drafted by the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and showcased his skills as a member of the Cherrey Cup-winning Elmira Sugar Kings in 2014.
Joining Coulter as assistant coaches will be Troy Weber and Dean Nixon. All three coaches were active players last season with the Durham Thundercats of the Western Ontario Athletic Association (W.O.A.A.).
The Patriots had a successful 2022-23 season, clinching the Pollock Division championship with a 4-1 victory over the Hanover Barons. They went on to compete in the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) North Conference Final, where they put up a strong fight but fell short with a 4-2 loss to the Stayner Siskins.
In the 2023-24 season, the Patriots will face a new challenge with the addition of the Fergus Whalers, an expansion team joining the Pollock Division.
