Online Conservation Auction runs this week

The 35th Annual Conservation Auction will take a new format this week, going online Monday morning, and offering over a hundred items to bid on in support of local organizations.

Bidding gets underway at 8 p.m. on May 12, and runs until 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15.

However, the public can get a sneak peak of all the items available for bidding right now, by visiting the auction web page.

"There are 120 wonderful items to bid on, and it’s a fantastic way to make a positive difference for your community," said Conservation Auction Committee Chair, Chris Keller. "We appreciate all the people who have supported the Conservation Dinner over the years and we hope they will continue to support this community fundraiser in a different format this year."

The online format is meant to allow more people to take part as the virtual auction runs for four days instead of a single evening.

Proceeds of the auction are split evenly on projects of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation and the Exeter Lions Club

The Conservation Auction has raised more than $1.39 million over its history, supporting community initiatives like: parks, trails and conservation areas; outdoor recreation events and experiences for families; conservation education; job and education opportunities for youth; and other projects in local watershed communities.
