The Listowel Cyclones lost the opening game of their GOJHL Conference Quarter-Final to the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins 2-0 Wednesday night.
But it could have been a different story if the puck moved a inch to the left, to the right, or even down.
Cyclones shooters hit a couple of posts and crossbars through the game.
After no scoring in the first period, the Siskins opened the second period with a goal 27 seconds in. Tyson Hillier was credited with the goal, stuffing it by Dixon Grimes during a scrum in front of the Listowel net.
Then just past the midway point of the second period, a hard, low shot was tipped in front of the Siskins' net but it bounced off the bottom part of the crossbar. The puck flew out far enough to allow the home team to make a rush up at the ice.
And at 13:24, Carson Maybury scored for the Siskins on a tip in.
That would do it for the scoring.
Listowel goalie Dixon Grimes stopped 35 shots while Blake Richard stopped 33 shots for the Siskins for his first shutout at the GOJHL level.
The 16-year old was a call up for as both of the Siskins' regular goalies, Cy Martin and Dylan Grover, recover from undisclosed injuries.
Game 2 of the series will be Friday night in Listowel at 7:30 p.m.

The rest of the Listowel-Siskins, including Sunday's Game 3 and Game 4 on Tuesday, April 12 will be broadcast on radio as normal.
Elsewhere in the GOJHL Wednesday night, Elmira shut out Brantford 3-0, Cambridge beat Caledon 6-0 and St. Marys blanked LaSalle 1-0.
All were opening games in their respective quarter-final series.
