Seaforth Country Classic Gets Underway

The Seaforth Country Classic gets underway at nine o'clock this morning. Co-ordinator Carolanne Doig says they have a field of over 50 golfers and they were fortunate this year they didn't lose any to the Canadian Open

" We have the top 24 on the Mandarin Tour. We have returning past-champion David Markle as well as Derrick Gillespie who also won the Big Break a few years ago. We have five amateurs entered including Paul Doig from Seaforth and Kevin Bennett our club champion."

Robyn Doig from Seaforth is the only woman in the field and is playing as a pro this year. There will be a cut after play on Friday and there is no admission fee for this year's Seaforth Country Classic.
