Anthony Peters Signs With Rochester Americans

Not long after turning pro Blyth's Anthony Peters is moving up the ranks. He has now signed a professional tryout contract with the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

The 24 year old goaltender came off a strong season in CIS playing for St.Mary's University in Halifax to sign with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. After two wins and a goals against average of 0.96 in his first professional action, Peters will make the move to Rochester.

Peters spent most of his junior career in the OHL before finishing with the Listowel Cyclones. From there he started what would be a long and solid university career.

Over 82 games in CIS play, he posted a record of 52-27-0 with a 2.58 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. This season he went 16-7-0 with a 2.30 GAA and a .926 sv%. He picked up the 2014-15 goalie of the year award for Canadian University for his efforts.

Peters follows in the footsteps of brother Justin, a goalie for the Washington Capitals. His brother Alex is the captain of the Plymouth Whalers.
