High School Athletics Wrap-up

Both the Kincardine junior and senior girls basketball teams won their respective matches in Bluewater Athletic Association action.

Starting with the junior girls, it was a balanced attack that lead the Knights to a 55-23 victory over Sacred Heart. Elsewhere, Jayedyn Solomon and Sasha Morano each had 9 points in Saugeen's 28-24 win over John Diefenbaker.

In senior girls action, Cassidy Murray-Collins sunk 12 points in Kincardine's 43 15 win over Sacred Heart. Elsewhere, John Diefenbaker topped Saugeen 39-7 lead by Kaylia Hachman with 12 points.

In Huron-Perth Athletic Association junior girls basketball, Natasha Klaver had 11 points and Claire Lavereau sunk 9 points as St. Micheal dominated Listowel 61-12. Elsewhere, St. Marys topped Goderich 43-30, St. Anne's edged South Huron 14-13, Stratford Northwestern downed F.E. Madill 48-12.

In senior girls action, Kate Gill lead South Huron with 14 points in their 44-25 win over St. Anne's. Avery Wedow had 18 points and Janieka Droog and Jess Findlay each sunk 12 in St. Michael's 78-16 rout of Listowel. Elsewhere, F.E. Madill beat Stratford Northwestern 28-21, and Goderich topped St. Marys 40-24.

On the ice, F.E. Madill's boys team shut out St. Anne's 2-0.

Protect pets from the heat

With a continuing heat warning from Environment Canada, people should also remember to keep their pets cool.
