On October 30, Voyago proudly recognized the dedication and excellence of its Hanover team with the presentation of Fleet Delivers Awards, celebrating employees whose passion, professionalism, and teamwork have kept transportation running smoothly for decades.
While Voyago has operations across Ontario — including in Ajax, Carp, Chatham-Kent, Etobicoke, London, and Ottawa — the Hanover location holds a special place in the company’s growing network. Formerly known as Kunkle Bus Lines, the location recently joined the Voyago family and brought with it a deep well of experience, local knowledge, and strong community spirit. Many members of the Hanover team have been with the company for more than a decade, and Voyago leaders say they’re eager to learn from their success.
“They have such a well-oiled team up here, and everyone’s all on the same page,” said Travis Kelly, London Fleet Manager. “When we talked about Voyago coming in and buying Kunkle [Bus Lines], and trying to change stuff over, we’re actually doing the opposite. We’re trying to pull from what they did and what worked, and bring that into the rest of the company.”
The Fleet Delivers Awards were presented by Olivier Tardif, Travis Kelly, and Brendan Rice, recognizing employees for their dedication to exceptional service, professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to safety:
Mike Huffman, Fleet Services Manager – 26 years
Bonnie Huffman, Operations Manager – 34 years
Kevin Graf, Mechanic – 24 years
Kevin Dickert, Mechanic – 23 years
Zack Dowler, Mechanic – 5 years
Collectively, the Hanover fleet team represents over 70 years of combined service to student transportation, a testament to its consistency, loyalty, and shared values. Its work ensures that every vehicle on the road meets Voyago’s high safety standards, supporting thousands of students and families each day.
For Mike Huffman, the award is about more than recognition, it’s a reflection of the close-knit culture the team has built over the years.
“Honestly, we’re proud of what we have here,” Huffman said. “Some days there’s stress involved, but at the end of the day we’re all professional about it and we get through the day. We leave as friends like we always do, and everybody still comes back tomorrow. We have something very special here that you’re not going to find too many places – and they all know that. That’s why we’re here.”
That sense of teamwork and shared pride was echoed by Bonnie Huffman, who has led operations in Hanover for more than three decades.
“We’re very proud of what we do here,” she said. “Those guys in the shop, they bend over backwards to get that bus on the road.”
The Hanover team’s reputation for efficiency and reliability has not gone unnoticed by Voyago leadership. Its attention to detail, smooth coordination between operations and maintenance, and commitment to safety reflect the values Voyago strives to uphold across all its divisions.
“Celebrating more than 70 years combined service to student transportation, our Voyago Fleet Delivers Award is presented to the dedicated crew of Voyago Hanover,” Voyago said in a social media post celebrating the Hanover employees. “Under the leadership of Bonnie Huffman, Operations Manager, and Mike Huffman, Fleet Services Manager, the Hanover Fleet team exemplifies professionalism and attention to detail with a passionate commitment to safety first.”
As Voyago continues to grow its presence across Ontario, the spirit of the Hanover team serves as a reminder of what drives the company’s success — people who genuinely care about their work, their colleagues, and the communities they serve.
The Fleet Delivers Awards are more than a milestone; they’re a celebration of how a team’s shared purpose can make an entire operation stronger.
