A Modern Addition to Wingham's Rental Scene

After years of development, Riverside Apartments in Wingham is set to open its doors for move-in day on November 1st. Its goal is to provide a much needed improvement to the local housing scene. The building brings a new kind of rental to Wingham, focusing on modern, stylish features suited to working professionals, families, and retirees. With housing options being limited in Wingham, Riverside apartments give residents the ability to stay in the town they call home.

Although some apartments have already been filled, there are still plenty of options available for those interested. “The individual units come in a variety of layouts, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units,” said Brock Hodgins of Hodgins Building Centre, co-developer on the project. “Each unit is thoughtfully designed including modern kitchens with quality finishes.”

Both sides of the Riverside Apartments offer unique views from their units. Apartments on the west side look out on the Maitland River and surrounding forestry, while the east side faces residential dwellings of inner Wingham. It allows residents the option to relax over the serene views of the surrounding nature, or to feel more a part of the broader community while watching the day-to-day movements of the town.

“The building is conveniently located near the Wingham walking trail, parks, and splash pad providing residents with easy access to nature right at their doorstep,” said Hodgins, while the building is also “just a short walk from local shops, restaurants, and community services.”

The location is perfect for weekend adventurers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who would like to get out for a run, hike, or thoughtful stroll along the Maitland. Its centrality to downtown also allows residents to enjoy the many other allures of Wingham.

“Wingham is a charming community known for its friendly atmosphere and strong sense of belonging, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, community events, and local gatherings,” said Hodgins.

It’s the community focus at Riverside Apartments that makes it such an appealing choice. Not just because of the warm and welcoming nature of Wingham itself, but also communal aspects inside the building.

“What excites us the most about Riverside Apartments is the opportunity to create a vibrant community that truly enhances the lives of its residents,” said Hodgins. “We’ve focused on not just building apartments, but fostering a sense of community where people can connect, thrive, and enjoy their surroundings.”

Rental pricing is directly comparable to units of similar quality in surrounding areas, with units starting at $1,800 per month. But, what makes Riverside Apartments different from others is the benefit of being centrally located to major towns and cities in Southwestern Ontario.

Riverside Apartments creates a jolt of energy for the town of Wingham, dramatically increasing housing availability for residents and those looking for a change of pace. It was a huge project for Brock and his co-developer Jonathan, who also owns the local construction business Precision Builders.  They’re excited to finally see it come to fruition.

“Jonathan and myself have been involved in many builds, but Riverside Apartments is on a completely different scale of anything we have accomplished before.”
