The Municipality of Brockton wants its residents to shape the priorities for next year's budget, and the process starts now.
An anonymous budget engagement survey is now available online, in which local residents can share their priorities for the upcoming year. The 10-minute survey also asks where residents may want to see budget cuts, and if they support a small tax increase of one to three per cent, if it means maintaining current service levels.
Surveys can be submitted until October 2.
Organizations and service groups can also submit a funding request to support initiatives or projects in 2027, by filling out the budget request form. The deadline to apply is also October 2.
Under the Strong Mayor Powers authority, the mayor is responsible for preparing and proposing a budget to council by February 1 of each year.
