The Canadian Mental Health Association Huron Perth – Addiction and Mental Health Services will receive $570,053 in provincial funding between 2026 and 2028.
The funding will support essential repairs and structural improvements, ensuring local individuals and families have access to safe and welcoming environments for care close to home.
"Investing in community healthcare infrastructure is an investment in the people who depend on these services every day," said Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson. "By supporting important upgrades at the Canadian Mental Health Association Huron-Perth - Addiction and Mental Health Services, we are helping create a safer, more accessible space where individuals and families in Huron County can receive the care they need, when they need it most."
The funding allows community-based health providers to address pressing facility requirements, ranging from the replacement of roofs and windows to the installation of upgraded security systems, fire alarms, and emergency generators, allowing them to modernize aging physical spaces and safeguard daily operations.
This regional project falls under the broader scope of the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund, which is distributing capital to 67 different health service providers, with provincial backing for the fund doubling since 2018. Under the umbrella of Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care, Ontario has committed approximately $64 billion over the next decade toward major health infrastructure developments, including launching construction on more than 50 major hospital projects that are projected to introduce roughly 3,000 new hospital beds.
