The Town of Saugeen Shores has gotten a legal win as it tries to complete the Cedar Crescent Village development.
According to the town, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice released a decision on May 19 in Mann v. Town of Saugeen Shores, after hearing motions from both parties on December 18, 2025.
The Court granted the Town’s motion to strike Mann's application and dismiss it, finding it was an abuse of process in light of the terms of a prior settlement between the parties, and it was commenced outside of the applicable limitation periods.
Mann’s application sought judicial review of Council’s 2022 decisions declaring lands "surplus" and confirming the related by-law and long-term lease arrangements.
The Town says no further comments on the ruling will be provided at this time.
The Ontario Courts site was down at time of publication, so the ruling could not be reviewed. For those that want a copy of the Court’s decision, it is available through the Municipal Office.
