The Hepworth Shallow Lake Royal Canadian Legion Branch 586 has been closed until further notice, by order of the provincial president.
The closure is due to a mass resignation of the executive.
Rob Butchart, District C Deputy Commander, said elections will be held January 7 for new executives. The hope is that after a transition period, the branch could reopen in early February.
As a result, a pair of events scheduled for Thursday have been cancelled. The Jam Session at 2 p.m. and Darts at 7 p.m.
All other scheduled Legion events will be cancelled moving forward.
