Huron County OPP have charged a Goderich resident following a knife-related incident in Seaforth.
Police say officers were called just after 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 7 after reports of a man walking through town while swinging a knife. Officers located the suspect, who allegedly confronted police while armed. A conducted energy weapon, commonly known as a taser, was used to safely take the person into custody.
A 33-year-old from Goderich faces multiple charges, including unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, six counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, six counts of failing to comply with probation, and failing to comply with a release order.
They were held for a bail hearing and remains in custody, with a future court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
