The Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce is preparing the local business community for major updates to Ontario’s commercial recycling system with a dedicated information session featuring Miller Waste.
Beginning in 2026, the province will see new rules that change how recycling is collected from businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The revised framework is expected to influence everything from operational procedures to service options and overall costs, creating a need for businesses to understand what’s coming before the transition begins.
Representatives from Miller Waste will guide participants through the core elements of the province’s updated recycling programs, outlining how the changes will shift commercial collection and what organizations may need to adjust in their current waste and recycling routines. The presentation will also highlight the significance of April 1, 2026, when major program transitions officially take effect.
The session aims to give business owners, property managers, and community organizations a clear picture of their recycling choices under the new system, along with planning considerations to help keep operations running smoothly throughout the transition.
The Chamber is encouraging early registration, noting that available spots for members are limited.
The information session with Miller Waste takes place January 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
