Snowfall warning issued for region

Heavy snow appears to be on the way for Midwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow level snowfall warning for Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth, and Wellington Counties. There was also a freezing drizzle advisory issued around 4 p.m.

According to the national weather forecaster, an Alberta clipper will bring snow, that may be heavy at times, across the area. The system could bring anywhere from 10 to 20 cm before the system moves on Wednesday.

The freezing drizzle could lead to icy surfaces. Environment Canada warns that those surfaces could be difficult to detect due to to the snowfall.

There is also the possibility of lake effect squalls on Wednesday evening. A snow squall alert was already issued for the Bruce Peninsula.

Visibility could be reduced during the blowing snow, making travel difficult. Check the CKNX road closures page for updates before you leave.
